I know, by now this is old news. Beckham came home from the NICU on Wednesday May 11, 2011. He was 5 lbs 14 oz when he left (a whopping 4 lbs bigger than when he arrived)! It was somewhat of a surprise that he came home the day that he did. We were planning on bringing him home the following Monday. We got all of our instructions and training on how to use the apnea monitor, the feeding tube, the oxygen tanks, and everything, including CPR training for Brittany. That was all done by Wednesday. Then we were talking to the NICU doctors and they said that he was ready to go home, but they were just waiting for us to be ready. Kind of jokingly we said "why don't we just bring him home today?" Next thing we knew the doctors were hurrying to get all of the paperwork finished, we were getting things set up at home, and we were back at the hospital at 10pm to take our little guy home with us. I had to work that night in the ER, so Brittany was a little nervous, but the night went well and Beckham has been thriving ever since. Here are some pics of the day he left the NICU:
We have been very busy with him and haven't been able to find any time to update the blog. Many of you have been asking, so I'll put up a bunch of photos
